John, after her historic selection as our party’s nominee for president and the incredible outpouring of support across the country, Vice President Harris just picked Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to be her running mate!

I am so very, very excited for Vice President Harris, Governor Walz, and our ticket. We had an abundance of great options, including Pennsylvania’s very own Governor Josh Shapiro. If you get a chance, Google his endorsement speech in Philly of the Harris-Walz ticket! Ahh-Maze-ing!

Governor Walz is someone who takes his commitment to service very seriously. Like me, he's a veteran, having spent 24 years in the National Guard. He's bridged divides and won in largely conservative rural districts. And he's fought hard to enact some of the strongest legislation in the country aimed at supporting working and middle class families – like paid leave, universal free school lunches, and free college tuition for low-income families.

And today, I can confidently say that the Harris-Walz ticket has exactly what it takes to win the White House.

But the fight before them won't be easy. It'll take a lot of resources to go head-to-head with the GOP, reach voters far and wide, and win big on Election Day.
