John —
Four years ago, Rep. Cori Bush brought down a 52-year political dynasty in St. Louis, MO on a wave of grassroots support.
This week, it took $12 million in outside spending from billionaire-backed Super PACs to overcome a powerful grassroots coalition and defeat her.
That onslaught of spending — from the Republican mega-donors behind AIPAC's Super PAC and the pro-crypto Fairshake PAC — is a testament to how effective Cori has been in fighting for a fairer economy, safe housing for all, and a foreign policy that values diplomacy over endless war.
The two most expensive primaries in U.S. history have now both taken place over the past few months. Tens of millions of dollars from AIPAC and the Republican megadonors who fund them went into primary challenges against Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush — Black candidates who have stood up for working people’s issues and refused to be silent about the atrocities in Gaza.
Their strategy was to try and divide us during this primary season and weaken our movement going into the fall, all working toward their ultimate goal in November: returning full control of Congress and the White House to Trump and MAGA Republicans.
They failed to divide us. They failed to weaken us. And we are not about to let them succeed in November either.
Over the next 88 days, we are ramping up our work to reach millions of voters, turn out voters for the Harris/Walz ticket in key swing states, take back Congress, and elect working people up and down the ballot. Join us now — pitch in with a contribution or sign up to volunteer:

We need voices like Cori’s in Congress now more than ever: nurses, educators, working people from all walks of life who come from communities who have been ignored by those in power and believe they deserve to be heard. That’s something we will never stop fighting for.
In solidarity,
Working Families Party
