PICTURE: (Chad) Djenembou, a displaced mother who fled her home because of violence, at her home, showing her daughters the art of knitting.

John —

Complex problems require complex solutions, and Djenembou from Chad is nothing short of an innovator. Using crochet, she's changing the lives of women in unimaginable circumstances.

Malnutrition is a problem that needs to be faced head on, and Djenembou knows it requires a community to do it.

And like Djenembou, you—a dedicated supporter of the International Rescue Committee's life-changing work—are courageous, generous, kind and tenacious.

💛So we hope this powerful video shows how much your support matters and demonstrates some of the ways displaced people lift up their communities with creativity and love.💛

Through crocheting at the IRC's Women Center, Djenembou has found a unique way of helping new mothers to learn about breastfeeding—one way to help address the malnutrition crisis.

She also teaches crocheting, sewing and knitting to other women in the camp, providing them with skills they can use to earn an income.

Alongside life-saving medical care, malnutrition treatment that brings children back from the brink of starvation, and emergency cash assistance that helps families build brighter futures, your support helps deliver joy and community.

Thank you again for being a part of this work.

International Rescue Committee 💛
