The long-awaited trial for election denier Tina Peters has officially begun. Peters is finally facing charges in front of a jury.

In 2021, Peters became a hero to MAGA election deniers for using her role as County Clerk to breach her county’s voting equipment in the hopes of proving the Big Lie. She teamed up with the MyPillow guy -- well-known election conspiracy Mike Lindell -- in spreading disinformation about the breach.

Then, she ran for Secretary of State, hoping to defeat Jena to become Colorado’s Chief Election Officer.

If convicted, Peters could face decades in prison.
