*You’re Invited: Two Events - Alcohol Crash Risk Webinar and Discussion on Blood Alcohol Concentration*

 

The Washington Traffic Safety Commission (WTSC) is working with the Washington Department of Health (DOH) and Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) to host two events related to drinking and driving and proposed changes to Washington’s Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC).

*Discussion with Hospitality Industry: Blood Alcohol Concentration *proposed changes from 0.08 to 0.05 percent. It will not be recorded. Join this session through this link [ [link removed] ]. Aug. 19, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

 

Registration is not required for either session.

The two events are an opportunity to learn about research into the safety risks associated with BAC and proposed changes to Washington’s limits.

 

On Monday, Aug. 12, the three agencies will host a webinar on the effects of alcohol consumption on a person’s ability to drive safely and the relationship between BAC levels and crash risk. The session features Dr. Tao Kwan-Gett, Chief Science Officer for DOH, and Mark McKechnie, Director of External Relations for WTSC.

 

The following week, WTSC will host a Q and A and listening session with members of the hospitality industry regarding the proposed change in Washington of the BAC limit from 0.08 to 0.05 percent.
