It’s been a historically tumultuous few weeks politically in the United States. Before the Democrats went from disarray with Biden ending his campaign to choosing Minnesota’s Governor Tim Walz as the candidate for VP to pair with Presidential candidate Kamala Harris, Project 2025 hit the mainstream media and the Republicans had their convention just mere days after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

We take a breath and a step back and peek a bit deeper into Project 2025 ([link removed]) , the far-right conservative playbook to overhaul the government and our coverage from the frontlines of protests at the RNC. The 900-page document reads like a late-stage fascism playbook that suggests the majority of the United States must live in a racist, intolerant, and isolated theocratic society. The security funding from Congress for each national convention this summer runs to $75 million apiece via federal grants, an increase from the usual $50 million. Importantly, the Mobile Field Force or Field Force Operations package of tactics has been announced as central to policing at the RNC and Chicago’s 2024 Democratic National Convention. The FEMA Center for Domestic Preparedness runs a national training curriculum called “Field Force Operations,” and Unicorn Riot released a training guidebook from the center in 2016 ([link removed]) .
