Folks,
Today marks one year since we launched this campaign, and I wanted to share with you my thoughts on where we came from, where we are now, and what lies ahead for us on this journey.
I hope you’ll read this email all the way through and then chip in $5 if you’re able, to help fuel our movement forward.
We started this campaign with a powerful mission and purpose. We set out to put an end to Donald Trump’s dangerous presidency, because it’s time for the world to remember who Americans are and what we stand for.
Empathy. Kindness. Compassion. Equal rights for all. Service to our neighbors. Generosity.
These are all values that our nation was founded on. We haven’t always lived up to them, but we’ve never walked away from them before.
We call this a battle for the soul of our nation, and it’s the most important task we’ve faced in our lifetimes. We cannot allow Trump to have four more years of sowing hate from the Oval Office.
I have to tell you, even in these uncertain times, I’m more confident than ever that we have what it takes to win this thing and show the world who we are as a country.
I say that because I’m truly inspired by the way Americans have responded to the crisis at hand. Millions of people reaching out, lending a hand, and doing everything they can to lead us through this darkness.
People like Alice from Ohio. She has been working tirelessly to supply masks for workers at her local retirement center and grocery stores. Her husband James, as part of our “Nominate a Hero” series, shared the story of how Alice spends nearly eight hours a day making over 150 masks to make sure folks in her community are protected from this virus.
It’s stories like this that remind me of the incredible grit and spirit of the American people. And I know that we will get through this together.
I plan on joining Alice in serving my community today by participating in what we’re calling our SOUL (Service Outreach Unity Leadership) of the Nation Saturday, and I hope you will, too. No action is too small, even a phone call to a friend or a sign of gratitude in your window will mean so much.
To Alice, and to everyone who has stepped up to take care of your community, thank you for the work you’re doing. You’re showing us all what Americans are about -- that we take care of each other.
I also want to thank everyone who has pitched in to make a call, donate a couple of dollars, or join us for a virtual event over the last weeks. You helped us take this campaign and turn it into a completely virtual operation, and now you’re helping us scale up for the November election.
When we launched this campaign, we didn’t know we’d be here one year later running a campaign in our new socially distanced reality. But, because of the work this team has put in, we’ve got a strategy for navigating our way through this and making sure we have the votes to lead us to victory.
Make no mistake -- Trump is going to be a tough opponent to beat. He and his buddies are going to throw every dirty trick in their book at us, but we’re not going to be intimidated by them.
We’re going to stay focused on our objective and fight like hell to make sure his presidency ends in January.
That’s our path forward. Now, it's up to us to put in the work to make it happen.
And if you’re with me today, I have a humble request for you. If you’re able, will you pitch in a couple of dollars to help us continue this fight?

I’m grateful to you just for being a part of this team. I mean that. We’re going to accomplish incredible things together.
So, thank you for reading this today and for everything you do. I hope you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy.
Talk again soon,
Joe Biden
