Hi John,

Extreme weather and climate disasters pose increasingly deadly risks to communities across the United States.

And at EDF, along with our members, supporters, partners and so many others, we are working together to urgently reduce climate pollution and curb the risks climate change brings.

But we’re already seeing the effects of climate change and the best thing we can do right now to protect the people and the things we love is to be prepared.

That’s why EDF Action is bringing a group of experts together to talk with you about how, as a country, we can build our climate resilience and ready our communities BEFORE disasters strike. Join us for this live discussion and learn how you can get involved!

When: Thursday, August 8th
Time: 6 PM ET / 3 PM PT
Where: VIRTUAL

This record-setting summer has highlighted glaring gaps in readiness, especially in the most economically and socially vulnerable communities.

Leaders at all levels of government need to take a holistic, all-hands-on-deck approach to build lasting climate resilience across the country — but how exactly do we do that?

That’s what we hope to discover as we listen to someone who understands:

# The industry: Chuck Chaitovitz, VP of Environmental Affairs and Sustainability at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce
# The science: Michelle Lovejoy, Senior Manager of Resilience Coasts and Watersheds at EDF
# The policy: Sarah Henshaw, Legislative Analyst of Coastal and Flood Resilience at EDF
# The community impacts: Tyler Taba, Director of Resilience at Waterfront Alliance
# How to put all the pieces together: Charles Sutcliffe, Senior Advisor for Resilience at National Wildlife Federation and Former Chief Resilience Officer of Louisiana
