Emily is the youngest candidate for the State House to earn an endorsement from Ruth’s List this election cycle, and she’s proven to be the most experienced and ready-to-lead candidate in her race. In addition to being a regular participant at our Ruth’s List Candidate Training Sessions, Emily has been on the ground in District 98 since launching her campaign. Emily has been knocking doors since January and talking to voters about how they want to be represented in Tallahassee. She’s also doubled-down on grassroots fundraising and connecting with local and national organizations to grow her coalition of supporters. The organizations Run for Something, SEIU Florida, the Florida NOW PAC, Florida for All, the Broward Young Democrats, and SAVE LGBTQ+ Action PAC have also endorsed Emily in this race.
In addition to her work in the nonprofit sector and as an advocate for survivors of sexual assault, Emily has worked directly in the Florida Legislature under State Senator Shevrin Jones, a vocal supporter of Emily’s candidacy. Like Senator Jones, we know that her fighting spirit, range of professional expertise, and experience in passing legislation to uplift Floridians makes Emily the ideal candidate to represent House District 98.
With less than two weeks until Election Day on August 20th, Emily and her campaign team are working around the clock to bring home a win for Democratic, pro-choice women in Florida and the constituents of HD-98.
