Where are you initially from, and what city do you live in now?
I am originally from Stillman Valley, Illinois and now live in Wheatland, Wyoming.
What is your favorite Wyoming wildlife species?
Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep
Who is your conservation hero?
President Theodore Roosevelt
What do you do for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department?
I am a wildlife biologist. I monitor and manage a variety of wildlife species including big game, trophy game, upland game birds and waterfowl.
What path brought you to a career with Game and Fish?
I always knew I wanted to move to the rocky mountain west growing up, and was fortunate enough to get a job with Game and Fish out of college.
What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of the job is that my responsibilities are not the same every day. Each day brings something new.
Why is the work you do important?
My work managing wildlife species is important for a lot of different reasons. Most importantly, my work managing wildlife populations helps to ensure that these populations are healthy for generations to come.
What advice would you give someone who wants the same career as you?
Do as much job shadowing, internships, etc. as you can early on in your education/career decision process. Through spending time with professionals, you’ll get the best understanding of what the job is and how the job will fit you.
