It's official, team: Vice President Kamala Harris has selected Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate for the presidential election!

From his leadership on reducing building emissions to protecting mass transit to expanding clean energy grants, Governor Walz is a true climate champion. He signed a bill to achieve 100% clean energy in Minnesota by 2040 -- and when that goal seemed out of reach, he reduced the red tape and made it easier to deploy clean energy.

California is known as a leader in the climate movement. We’ve proven we can win historic climate victories -- like the $10 billion climate bond we put on the ballot this November. Now, it’s up to us to carry this momentum through the election cycle.

We don’t have fossil fuel war chests, but we do have an undeniable swell of people power. Our work is a powerful counter-weight to the influence of polluting corporations.

I believe there’s a real opportunity to make history this cycle, team. Between electing a pro-climate President, climate champion Vice President, and continuing to lead on climate justice in California, there is unprecedented potential to make huge strides in safeguarding our environment.
