I just wanted to let you know what we’re up to in The Bronx and Queens:
We have run an amazing back-to-school drive, where we’ve stocked tons of backpacks for kids and families that might have trouble affording school supplies.
We do this every year — but this year, your support has been astronomical.
Everybody falls on tough times now and then. My family fell on tough times.
Now, if families in my district need a little bit of help, we’ve got all of these.
And it all came from you. I don’t take any money from corporate lobbyists, or Wall Street, or any of that. It all came from a bunch of average donations of $16.
We’re still pushing to make this our biggest back-to-school distribution yet.
I can’t thank you all enough for the support. It is the only reason we are able to do this transformative work in our community.
