I've been having heart-wrenching conversations with small business owners throughout our district, many of which are just days away from losing their business.
I am relieved to say we were able to secure additional resources to support these entrepreneurs and their incredible workforce. The House just passed a bipartisan bill to provide emergency relief for the American people.
The Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act will provide more money for small businesses -- making sure that funds are getting to the businesses that need it most, including those in our community that bank with local banks and credit unions.
Relief will also go to hospitals to support the safety of our overextended health care workers and to increase access to testing, which will help us curb this pandemic and get back to our daily lives.
The funding we passed yesterday is critical and will provide much needed support for many Michiganders, but I know there is so much more we need to address. I will continue working around the clock and doing everything I can to help our community through this crisis.
I may not be able to see you right now, but know that I am fighting for you.
Stay safe,
Haley Stevens
