Neshoba County Fair
The Neshoba County Fair, also known as Mississippi’s Giant Houseparty, was a great event. I always enjoy meeting with constituents gathered from across Mississippi’s Third Congressional District. Thank you to everyone for your hospitality and for allowing us to represent you in Washington.
Retirement Ceremony for Major General Barry Blanchard
I was honored to attend the retirement ceremony for Major General Barry Blanchard at the 172nd Airlift Wing. We are grateful to General Blanchard for his 32 years of service to our state and country.
Attending the Beaulympics
I was honored to attend Beaulympics, benefitting the Mustard Seed. The Mustard Seed is an important part of our community and serves adults with developmental disabilities. A special thanks to my good friend, Beau Cox, for making this event happen.
Supporting the Second Amendment
I am proud to have an A rating from Gun Owners of America. I will always fight for our Second Amendment rights as enshrined in our Constitution. I recently have co-sponsored several pieces of legislation to protect our gun rights as American citizens. Below is more information on a couple of these items.
I am an original co-sponsor of H. J. Res 164, which would nullify the Interim Final Rule from the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) regarding firearm export licenses. I also joined a letter last year in opposition to the BIS pause on export licenses for certain firearms and ammunition after the pause was announced. The Biden Administration is attempting to make sweeping changes to export licenses through the rulemaking process, and my colleagues and I are fighting back with this legislation.
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise has introduced legislation that permits licensed dealers to transfer handguns to out-of-state buyers if the transaction complies with both state laws and the buyer and dealer meet in person for the sale. The legislation allows licensed dealers to sell firearms at out-of-state gun shows in accordance with relevant state laws, allows for face-to-face transfer of firearms between dealers (as opposed to the current requirement of shipping firearms), and allows servicemembers and their spouses greater flexibility on where they are deemed eligible to purchase firearms. I am proud to be an original co-sponsor of this legislation.
My Staff and I Are In Your Community

We have hosted Constituent Services Days, stopped by local breakfast meet-ups, attended ribbon cuttings, and visited with mayors in local communities. If there is an important event happening in your community, please let us know. Keep scrolling to see some of the places we have been, and be sure to follow me on Facebook to see when we might be in your local community.
