On numerous occasions, Border Czar Kamala Harris has erroneously claimed that “an undocumented immigrant is not a criminal.” 

This assertion is absurd, ignorant, and patently false. After all, the very first act an illegal alien commits in the U.S. is unlawfully entering our country. So, regardless of their future actions or behavior, they have already committed a crime by illegally setting foot in America.

Yet plenty of illegal aliens add on to their rap sheets once arriving in our communities.

Headline after headline, we’ve witnessed the heartbreaking realities of illegal alien crime. Last August, Rachel Morin, a mother of five, was murdered in Maryland by an illegal alien from El Salvador. Earlier this summer, 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray was murdered in Texas by an illegal alien from Venezuela. Back in February, 2-year-old Jeremy Poou-Caceres was slain in a shootout involving an illegal alien from El Salvador. 

The list goes on and on.

These tragedies are devastating families nationwide — including the Peach State. Six months ago in our own Athens community, Laken Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student, was brutally murdered by an illegal from Venezuela.

All of these heinous crimes were 100% avoidable — because none of these illegal aliens should be here in the first place.

Yet Border Czar Kamala Harris won’t call them criminals. Moreover, she refuses to use the term “illegal aliens” because it’s “offensive.”

Newsflash, Kamala: An illegal alien is a criminal. And what’s offensive is pretending they’re not.

It’s a slap in the face to Americans, legal immigrants, and the rule of law to coddle illegal aliens and justify their crimes to score political points. Unfortunately, Kamala’s radical record is littered with policies and rhetoric that do just that.

As the Biden-Harris Administration’s intentional illegal invasion continues to wreck our nation, we desperately need leaders who uphold the law and put Americans first. Rest assured, I remain committed to advancing policies that secure the border, deport illegal aliens currently residing in our country, and protect you and your family.

The ongoing Olympic Games are exciting and inspiring, as they showcase the world’s most talented athletes. From swimming to soccer, each competitor is driven by dedication and perseverance, eager to display their unparalleled skills on the global stage. Yet last week, we witnessed how years of blood, sweat, and tears in preparation for this very moment can be erased in an instant. 

As you may know, Algerian boxer Imane Khelif defeated Italy’s Angela Carini in just 46 seconds after Carini called off the fight. Carini left the ring in tears, noting how “one punch hurt too much.” Well, that’s because Khelif is a biological male. In fact, he was disqualified during the 2023 World Championships after failing a “gender eligibility test.” Despite his XY chromosomes, he was allowed to compete against women in the Olympics. While there are more matches, Khelif has fraudulently secured at least the bronze medal for his performance thus far. Meanwhile, women like Angela Carini’s lifelong dreams and years of practice have been shattered.

Allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports undermines the hard-earned achievements of female athletes, distorts the level playing field that is crucial for fair competition, and endangers the lives of female competitors. It’s simply unacceptable for women who have trained their entire lives to be sidelined by policies that prioritize woke goals over fairness and basic biology. Yet that’s exactly what the Biden-Harris Administration is doing here in America. In fact, the same day that Khelif unjustly defeated Carini, the White House’s new Title IX rule changes went into effect. In short, the radical rewrite allows males to rob young women of scholarship opportunities, compete in women’s sports, and access private spaces, such as women’s bathrooms and locker rooms. While Georgia and other conservative states sued the Biden-Harris Administration and temporarily blocked these disastrous Title IX changes from taking effect, we must do more to protect women and save women’s sports from the Left’s harmful agenda. Please know that through my work in Congress, I have fought to defund this nonsense through the appropriations process, and I have supported commonsense legislation to keep males out of women’s sports.

As Georgian students and teachers return to the classroom, I’d like to extend my best wishes for a successful and fulfilling year ahead. To our dedicated educators, thank you for your passion and commitment, which serve as the driving forces that inspire and help shape the next generation of leaders. To our students, I wish you a year filled with knowledge, growth, and memorable moments. And to our parents, I hope this back-to-school season is exciting and stress-free. Please know that I will continue supporting policies in Congress that put parents first. After all, parents must remain the primary stakeholder in their child’s education – not bureaucrats in Washington or anywhere else!
