Scam Jam

This Friday, August 9th, I will be hosting a Scam Jam from 10AM-12PM at the Upper Providence Township Administration Building. This program is designed to help individuals spot and avoid frauds and scams. Don’t miss this special event where I team up with other PA departments and offices! Call my office at 484-200-8263 to register your attendance.  

Summer Collection Drive

Just one day left! My office is collecting nonperishable foods, school materials, and cleaning supplies for my Summer Collection Drive. Drop off donations at my district office or at one of the local township or borough offices now through August 8th! We thank everyone for their contributions thus far. 

District Update

This week, I continue to highlight the advances the Pennsylvania Budget will makes towards our Commonwealth by focusing on its impact surrounding employment in PA. This budget invests in supporting the state’s workforce as well as the needs of our workers and businesses. From increased resources in career education to providing institutions with a set of tools for workforce development, the budget allows for critical funding towards the future of our workers.  

Council of State Governments 

I was honored again this year to participate in the Council of State Governments East’s annual meeting and regional policy forum. This year’s theme was Pathways to a Sustainable Future. There were many informational sessions I attended, and I was able to participate in discussions around green energies, geothermal networks and improving electricity distribution. I’m grateful to interact with legislators and policy experts throughout the region to have these important conversations around best practices, science, and emerging technology.  

America 250 

In preparation for the historical 250th anniversary of America on July 4th, 2026, America250 plans to honor the countless historical milestones and contributions our country has to offer. As America250’s first state partner, Pennsylvania, under the title of America250PA, has a mission called E.P.I.C., which aims to educate, preserve, innovate and celebrate the rich history of Pennsylvania. I want to highlight historical features and stories within each township in the 150th district that helped mold our beautiful state and country. August Holidays

Mom Equal Pay Day – August 7th 

Today, August 7th is Mom’s Equal Pay Day! Mothers in the U.S. who work full time are paid an average of 69 cents for every dollar a father makes. Our office recognizes the necessary movement to ensure better pay and better workplace benefits for all working parents.  

Purple Heart Day – August 7th 

Today, we also recognize Purple Heart Day. August 7th commemorates the creation of the oldest American military decoration for military merit. The Purple Heart honors the men and women who are of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. We are thankful for these recipients and the service they have contributed to our nation.
