SIGN: Pledge to vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz this election!
John,
Yesterday Kamala Harris announced her vice presidential running mate, Tim Walz. As a progressive veteran and former high school teacher and football coach, the current governor of Minnesota is a strong complement to Harris's campaign. We have less than 90 days to elect Harris and Walz—and it's going to take everyone to defeat Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans at the polls in November.
Walz stands in stark contrast to Trump's running mate, JD Vance, who has been blasted over the past couple of weeks for his weird, dangerous, and unpopular ideas on women, children, and voting—as well as his inconsistent flip-flopping when it comes to Trump and the issues that matter to Americans. Walz, on the other hand, can speak to everyday Americans because he is one.
Unlike Trump and Vance, Walz grew up in rural Nebraska. The people Vance talks down to are the ones that Walz considers his family and his neighbors. And Walz has a track record of bringing people together to pass policies that benefit working families—such as providing K-12 students free breakfast and lunch, passing tuition-free college for low-income Minnesotans, and investing in paid family and medical leave.
Together, Harris and Walz can move our country forward—establishing reproductive rights and bodily autonomy, fighting for climate solutions, and making our economy work for all Americans, not corporations and the ultrawealthy. We refuse to let Trump and the far right take us further backward. But if we’re going to win this election, we need every person to use their voice and their vote.
Thanks for all you do.

Dear MoveOn member,
These are unprecedented times, and they require unprecedented action. We have to come together as a united voting bloc to elect Kamala Harris as our next president and make history. On Sunday, President Joe Biden announced that after 50 tireless years as a public servant, including nearly four tremendous years as president of the United States, he is passing the torch—ending his presidential campaign and endorsing Harris as the Democratic nominee.
Over her 20 impressive years as a strong, progressive leader, Harris has already shown that she can run and win. She did it when she first ran for district attorney of San Francisco in 2004—becoming the first woman and first Black and South Asian American woman to hold that position. She made history again when she ran to become attorney general of California, again when she ran for and won a seat in the U.S. Senate, and again when she ran for and became vice president in 2020.
As vice president, Kamala Harris has been an essential part of the Biden administration's successes. Presiding as president of the Senate, Harris set a record for the most tie-breaking votes cast by a vice president—making her the critical deciding vote to confirm five federal judges, pass the American Rescue Plan and the Inflation Reduction Act, and rein in Big Pharma by capping insulin costs at $35.1,2 She has been a strong and consistent advocate for protecting and advancing abortion rights, launching a "Fight for Reproductive Freedoms” tour this year and making history as the first U.S. president or vice president to visit an abortion clinic. And she has fought time and again for everyday Americans, advocating for voting rights, clean air and water, and commonsense gun legislation.
Harris is the champion we need in the White House to expand on the Biden administration's historic wins. Ahead of the Democratic Convention, let's build public momentum now by committing to vote—and to do all we can to elect Kamala Harris as president and elect Democrats up and down the ballot.
Biden put this country first when he made the decision to step down from this election. From passing historic climate and health care policies to providing economic relief for millions of families, Biden paved the way for the American people to elect a strong Democratic trifecta in November that can continue his 50-year legacy fighting for everyday American families. And he gave his unwavering endorsement of Harris—confident not only that she would win but that she was the right person to carry that legacy forward.
Harris is Trump's worst nightmare. As a former prosecutor, Harris is a sharp public speaker and debater who has taken on sexual abusers and corporate criminals like Donald Trump. She has a track record of putting people over corporations by taking on fraudsters trying to cheat the American people—and winning, successfully going after Big Oil, greedy pharmaceutical companies, and predatory mortgage lenders to deliver wins for working people.3,4,5 That's why, only days after Harris confirmed she is running for president, Trump started complaining and waffling about participating in the next presidential debate.6 Trump and MAGA Republicans are not ready for Harris's presidential campaign.
We also know that the far right is poised and ready to sling its worst racist and sexist attacks against Harris. In fact, they have already started.7 That's why we need a strong, unified front ready to fight back against baseless attacks against Harris and deliver a landslide win this November.
This election is about two different futures for our country. One charted by Trump and MAGA's dangerous Project 2025 platform, slashing our collective rights and eroding our democracy. And the other where the government actually works for everyday people, driven by people-first and compassionate policies, not the wealthy and powerful few.
Harris has the vision and experience to defeat Trump, lead us toward a more progressive future, and not only preserve our democracy, our rights, and our freedoms but expand them. But it's up to us, the people, to turn out and VOTE to make that future a reality.
Thanks for all you do.
