As Kamala Harris electrifies supporters and surges in the polls, Trump and his GOP allies are resorting to desperate smears. Once again, they’re using our community as a political football.

Despite having a proudly Jewish husband and a clear pro-Israel, pro-peace record, desperate MAGA cheerleaders are hurling racially coded attacks on Kamala Harris as “anti-Israel” and “antisemitic” – the same playbook they tried against Barack Obama.

Well sorry, Mr. Trump, but we don’t need lectures on our values from a convicted felon who fuels antisemitic conspiracy theories, feeds racial grievances and dines with Holocaust deniers. From someone who continues to accuse Jewish Americans who oppose him of “disloyalty” to Israel and says we should have our “heads examined.”

These smears haven’t worked before and we won’t let them work now.

Here’s what Donald Trump and those in the media reporting these smears get wrong:

Spewing anti-Palestinian rhetoric is not “pro-Israel” leadership.
You can support Israelis without supporting Netanyahu and the settlement movement.
The majority of our community are anguished by both the horrors of October 7 and the intolerable toll the war continues to inflict on families in Gaza.

Here’s the truth: Our loyalty lies not with any nationalistic narcissist or “day-one dictator” – but with our Jewish, democratic values.

Together, we need to make clear that we reject these smears and the overwhelming majority of our community continues to stand proudly with Kamala Harris. As Jewish Congressman Jamie Raskin – a close friend of J Street – told the New York Times yesterday: “The idea that Kamala Harris is antisemitic is pathetically stupid. Somebody better tell her husband.”
