John —
What’s disgusting? Union busting.
What’s outrageous? Crappy wages.
What’s inspiring? Organizing.
After Bronx-based manufacturing company Baco Enterprises wrongfully terminated an employee for organizing to form a union, Brad proudly joined members on the picket line yesterday.
Alongside UAW Local 259, Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and incoming State Assembly Member Claire Valdez, we’re demanding that Baco reinstate illegally-fired worker Alex Patterson and recognize the union TODAY.
The labor movement is having a major moment here in New York City and all over the country — all the way up to the presidential ticket. Vice President Harris’s new running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, is a long-time champion of workers rights and a former union member himself.
John, New York City will always be a union town. And when employers utilize illegal union-busting tactics, Brad Lander will always be on the front lines with workers fighting back.
More soon,
— Team Lander
P.S. If you stand with Brad, labor, and the workers who keep our city thriving, please consider pitching in to his campaign for Mayor of New York City today.
