Carmen Goers Advances to the General Election!

Puyallup, WA… Carmen Goers was sent forward to the general election with 44.27 percent of the vote. Carmen declared her candidacy for the 8th Congressional District back in February of 2023 and since then has earned the endorsements of over 55 locally elected officials and unions.

Carmen had this to say about the results “I am grateful for the people of the 8th Congressional District. Tonight is a night of celebration and with your help we will celebrate again in November”.

Speaking to a crowd of supporters at the Pierce County Republican Party watch party, Carmen had this to say about the primary race “As Republicans we worked hard to avoid a primary fight, and that hard work paid off tonight” Goers continued by saying “We’ve had three terms of failed leadership from our current congresswoman. In two of those terms, she was in the majority and couldn’t help curve inflation, help our farmers, stop a growing crime pandemic, or even provide resources to our officers. In fact, she did the exact opposite by voting against our law enforcement officers, our small businesses, and the communities she claims to represent. We need a change and I’m excited to work with you to bring that change to our district and state. I want to thank everyone who voted in the primary.” Goers said.

Justus Phelps, Campaign Manager said “These results show that the voters are ready for a change. While we are celebrating tonight, we also know that there is a lot more work ahead. Carmen Goers was able to stave off a Republican challenger, allowing her to work on meeting voters where they are. We’ve touched almost every community in the 8th Congressional District, and if we haven’t been to a community yet we are working on getting her there” added Phelps.
