John, Yesterday marked the anniversary of the Voting Rights Act — a monumental step in our nation's journey toward equality and justice. Yet, even as we celebrate this landmark piece of legislation, we must confront a harsh reality: our voting rights are still under attack. The GOP is using every trick in the book to suppress our voices. From imposing stricter voter ID laws and closing polling locations to restricting early voting and attacking mail-in ballot procedures, they are determined to make it harder for Americans to vote. They know they can't win on policy, so they are undermining our most fundamental right to swing elections in their favor. We won't let them succeed. Voting isn't just a right; it's the bedrock of our democracy. It's how we, the people, hold our leaders accountable and shape the future of our country. When our voting rights are attacked, our democracy itself is threatened.
