Dear John,

In 2023, your support and commitment to protecting the world’s habitats and wildlife helped our conservation partners to protect irreplaceable land across 28 countries. I am delighted to share with you our 2023 Impact Report ([link removed]) , which showcases the successes brought about by our incredible community of supporters and partners.

We are at a pivotal time for the future of our planet. With the climate and biodiversity crises only becoming more urgent, the actions taken in this decade will decide the kind of future we will all face. The achievements set out in our Impact Report ([link removed]) show what can be accomplished when direct conservation action is taken. Thanks to supporters like you, we have helped our 52 conservation partners across the world to save more than 150,000 hectares (more than 370,658 acres) of vitally biodiverse land, plant more than 400,000 trees to restore forests, and protect the countless known and as yet unrecorded species that make a home there.

The funds raised through our collective action have delivered nature-based solutions to address biodiversity loss, climate change, sustainable development for communities and so much more. In 2023, WLT was able to consolidate funding and focus on strengthening our relationships with both partners and supporters. The
Impact Report ([link removed]) highlights the continuing success of our core programmes and 58 individual projects, all made possible by supporters like you. We show how WLT’s income and expenditure is distributed across our activities and the remarkable results that have been achieved from them.

All of us here at WLT continue to be truly heartened by your incredible support, and we thank everyone who has helped to make our projects a reality in 2023. I am confident that together we can reach our goal of bringing one million hectares (2.47 million acres) of land into conservation protection between 2021 and the end of 2025.

Yours sincerely,

Dr Catherine Barnard,
World Land Trust CEO.
