We recently saw Grok, the AI chatbot on the X social media platform, spreading false information that Vice President Kamala Harris was ineligible for the 2024 ballot.

This misinformation was shared with millions of people, and it’s critical we act now to ensure voters have accurate information.

Steve Simon led the effort to get Secretaries of State from Pennsylvania, Washington, Michigan, and New Mexico to send an urgent letter to X demanding immediate changes to Grok.

The letter has received attention and interest nationwide, but will hopefully also get the attention of social media companies everywhere. They have a responsibility to do the right thing by correcting their own mistakes.
