Statewide, WY – The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and the Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments (OSLI) announces the addition of a new video on the website offering comprehensive resources for water systems completing the service line inventory process, LeadFreeWyoming.com
The video, titled “WY Risk It? Test Your Water Line for Lead” helps residents learn more about their water service line and how to help their local water utility complete the statewide survey.
This initiative is part of a broader nationwide effort requiring drinking water systems to identify and compile an inventory of service line material types to help protect public health from the known negative effects of lead. These initial inventories are mandatory submissions to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) due by Oct. 16.
Water systems interested in participating can contact the project team at [email protected] with inquiries and to request inclusion in the project email distribution list.
