 We’re losing steam at the worst possible time. While our campaign set a new fundraising record last month, the first five days of August have not been kind. With just 91 days to Election Day, I find myself asking, why? Is it because summer is nearing its end, and everyone is on vacation? Is it because folks already think we have this race in the bag? Because I can assure you that we do not. Or is it because you’re receiving far too many emails and text messages from people asking for money? Whatever the reason, we need our bad luck to turn around quickly. I have a meeting with President Trump on Friday afternoon in Montana, and I know he will ask about our fundraising numbers. I can’t tell him we’re down 20% month over month.
