Some things have changed in the last few weeks, but one thing hasn’t – the importance of making sure your voice is heard in our elections!
And there are a few updates to this year’s primary we want to share with you.
First, our primary has been moved from May 5th to June 2nd. Second, in the primary ALL Hoosier voters have the option to cast a mail-in absentee ballot or vote in person.
Voting by absentee ballot is an existing election process. And it’s an option for casting your ballot while practicing social distancing and staying healthy and safe during this pandemic.
Just follow the instructions below to request and mail in your ballot.
Click the “ABS-MAIL PRIMARY 2020” link to download the absentee ballot application and print it
If you don’t have a printer, call your county elections division and ask them to send you the application
Fill out the application and send the application to your county election division. The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot is May 21st.
You will get your absentee ballot in the mail
Fill out the ballot and return to your county election division.
The ballot must be to the election division by noon on June 2nd, so we recommend sending it in at least 5 days prior.
If you have any questions, call your county election division and they can walk you through the process.
And, of course, remember -- early and Primary Day-voting options will also still be available. Early voting begins on May 26. If you'd like to vote in-person, visit indianavoters.in.gov and check to see if your polling location has changed.
