Howdy John,
The Democratic National Convention is coming up in just a couple of weeks, and we are so excited to make our way to Chicago! We’re incredibly proud to send a full delegation to support Vice President Kamala Harris's nomination and help her win his November.
Our delegates are truly incredible. They hail from all across our state and come from all walks of life. They proudly represent Colorado and the Democratic Party.
Some are attending their first convention, others are longtime delegates - in fact, one of our delegates, the Honorable Polly Baca, has attended every convention since 1964! The youngest is 20 years old and the oldest is 95. They hail from every corner of our state; representing rural, urban, and suburban communities. They’ve been governors, Senators, have served in the State Legislature, have served in our military, and have fought for our civil liberties.
As you can imagine, taking time off work and traveling to Chicago for a week isn’t cheap. It can be a real sacrifice for some folks. We want to do what we can to support our delegates and ensure that finances aren’t a barrier to participating in the democratic process and representing our communities.
That is why we’ve set up the CDP Scholarship Fund. It’s designed to assist our delegates who qualify for and need financial assistance. We’re hoping to raise $10,000 to support our Colorado delegation and could use your help in hitting that goal.
