1) We’ve Seen the Future and It’s Natural Gas

The price of natural gas has fallen in recent weeks to $2 MMBTU, which is the lowest price level for energy after adjusting for inflation than any time in 20 years - and probably ever in the history of mankind.

Prices Down, Down, Down.

Because of modern drilling technologies – including horizontal drilling and fracking – Natural gas is now cheaper than bottled water, which now sells for $2.69.

A constant theme of the Hotline is that the so-called “green-energy transition” is a figment of the left’s oversized imagination. Despite hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars thrown at wind and solar power, we still get less than 10% of our energy from green sources. The needle hasn’t moved.

Meanwhile, natural gas has all the attributes of a wonder fuel. It is abundant, made in America, clean-burning (using natural gas REDUCES carbon emissions), reliable, and cheap.

It can also be used for all of America’s energy needs - including transportation. (If we go with electric vehicles we are going to get the power from natural gas.)

The left, of course, is against natural gas because it is TOO cheap and TOO abundant. Why use natural gas when you can use expensive and completely unreliable wind power?

We need permits for more LNG terminals and pipelines so we can transport our natural gas resources to every region of the country and export it across the world.

2) On Energy It's Tim Walz Who Is a Flat Earther

Speaking of clean and abundant energy, Kamala’s position on fossil fuels and fracking seems to twist in the wind like a weather vane about every two weeks. But her running mate is no equivocator: he wants to abolish all fossil fuel production.

Politico reports that "it took Governor Tim Walz all of a month after being sworn into a second term to sign a sweeping clean energy bill that put in place one of the Midwest's most progressive climate policies." His plan requires utilities to produce 100 percent carbon-free energy in 15 years.

Meanwhile, Walz has embraced California's clean-car rules, which would eventually lead to a full ban on gas cars. In 2022, his climate change scheme called for increasing the share of electric cars on Minnesota roads to 20% by 2030, from the current 1%. He has also proposed completely banning liquid transportation fuels by 2050

Despite all his anti-internal-combustion-vehicle policies, Walz claims he has to ride in a gas-guzzler SUV for security reasons:

When asked why Minnesota was moving towards its Green New Deal even faster than California, he proclaimed: "When I hear people say, 'You're moving too fast' – we can't move too fast when it comes to addressing climate change."

This election could come down to a referendum on whether America should use its vast energy resources or not.

3) Bring Back the SST!
The naysayers and environmental wackos who want to restrict meat consumption, ban gas stoves, and mandate electric vehicle use have a new target in their sights: the return of supersonic jet travel. In the 1970s the SST could fly from London to New York in about three hours.

Boom Supersonic, the Denver-based company that is building a successor to the Concorde, tested its XB-1 demonstration aircraft over the Mojave Desert last spring. The 64-seat plane, which will cruise at 1,300 miles per hour, will go supersonic in a flight later this year.

Company founder Brian Scholl says he finds it "depressing" that the company is being attacked by "flight shaming" activists who want to put an end to mass air travel.

"There are some people who look at this and say, 'Well, I guess we should use less energy, we should go to fewer places.,'" Scholl told reporters.

"I believe in a future of abundance. I believe the North Star is human flourishing and that we should build a future in which more people can go to more places more often."

He notes that his firm's planes will use new synthetic fuels that will reduce overall CO2 emissions and "the sonic boom we're going to put out over the open ocean where no one's going to hear it."

Kudos to Scholl for recognizing that in business, speed and time are literally money, and in the leisure market more people are ready to pay for a premium product. "I want to have a future where we have more and better things for us as humans, and we make the world around us a place that we can enjoy even more," he says. "We can absolutely have that future. We just have to build it."

The left is fighting against the future.

4) Democratic Leader Thinks Venezuelan Marxist Maduro Is "Right Wing"

Congressman Jamie Raskin of Maryland is known as one of the most left-wing members of Congress and he may be tapped to be Judiciary Committee chairman if Democrats win the House in November.

Raskin recently posted on social media a rant that  Marxist Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro (who probably rigged the recent election to secure victory), is really a  "right-wing” dictator.

Perhaps Raskin believes his “followers are gullible fools,” as the National Review put it. He may be right.

What’s even scarier is that Raskin – this champion of “democracy” – has endorsed the idea of not seating Donald Trump if he wins the election:

"So it's going to be up to us on January 6, 2025, to tell the rampaging Trump mobs that he's disqualified. And then we need bodyguards for everybody in civil war conditions."

5) Where Did All Those Chips Dollars Go?

Intel was one of the biggest beneficiaries of the Chips Act, receiving an $8.5 billion grant announced in March, a $25 billion sweetheart tax incentive and likely the lion's share of an $11 billion federal loan program. That's only the opening act.

What did we get in exchange? Intel this week announced it was laying off 15% of its workforce -- 15,000 positions.

America lost twice: billions of dollars and thousands of jobs.

Meanwhile, Nvidia, which took no government money, has been the top-performing stock over the past 18 months and has made hundreds of billions of dollars for American shareholders. Its chips are mostly made in Taiwan, but it creates thousands of jobs here at home.
