When I went on strike last year at Waffle House, I had no idea how much my life would change.
I was SO fed up with all the in-store violence, extreme heat, and poverty wages at work, I organized with my coworkers and we walked out!
From getting injured after an in-store shooting to earning an hourly rate as low as $3/hr, my story of worker exploitation at Waffle House resonated with thousands of other workers across the South.
Well, myself and other current and former Waffle House workers have a surprise for you: Our first-ever Waffle House Worker Roundtable Discussion.
Just a few months ago, I met up with these Waffle House workers in Atlanta and we sat down to have an extended conversation about the poverty wages, mandatory meal deductions, in-store violence, and other issues that Waffle House workers experience.
We laughed, we cried, we listened to each other – and we emerged more determined than ever to organize and unionize Waffle House and all our workplaces.

Listen, Waffle House is supposed to be a family-oriented establishment. But there is nothing of family values at this corporation. They only look at us as a means to make money.
We know it, and we’re talking about it.
