John,
When Ground Game collects signatures for a ballot petition, we’re meeting thousands of people who are otherwise disengaged from Texas politics. At grocery stores, youth baseball games, farmers’ markets, festivals and more, we’re meeting Texans where they are — and giving them a reason to care about politics.
In south Texas, over 5,400 McAllen residents signed our petition for campaign finance reform. We’ve verified over 4,300 as registered city voters. Out of the rest are hundreds of people who are eligible to register to vote — but haven’t done so.
Here’s the good news: Ground Game has their contact information. We have their cell phones and emails. And we know they care about local policy — that’s why they signed our petition!
Help Ground Game register progressive Texans in McAllen, Dallas, and Central Texas with a $25 contribution today – make it recurring for greater impact!
John, you’ve probably heard it before, Texas is not a “red state,” it’s a non-voting state. Our experience is that many Texans feel left behind by the political process. They don’t think politicians care about them or their concerns.
Ground Game is addressing that head on by using popular local issues as a way to engage more people in the political process. With every contribution you make, we can make sure more progressive-minded people are ready to vote this November!
With love and determination,
Catina Voellinger
Executive Director
