Results from Tuesday's primary election contest in Missouri are in, and the field is now set in my race: it will be me versus far-right extremist David Gregory. 

Gregory is best known for filing frivolous lawsuits that have achieved nothing but wasting taxpayers money in an effort to advance his political career. He is a Trump-first MAGA extremist who cares more about his own political ambition than about making life better for anyone.

David Gregory is a fervent supporter of Missouri’s total abortion ban—a law that makes no exceptions for cases of rape or incest, and which has caused chaos and wreaked havoc for women and families. Notably, Gregory is endorsed by Missouri Right to Life, an anti-choice group that opposes all abortion and most forms of contraception, IVF, emergency Plan B contraception, embryonic stem cell research, and even the Equal Rights Amendment. 

Missouri cannot afford any more MAGA extremists like Gregory making decisions about our rights, our healthcare, and our future. 

Symbolic, unworkable policies designed solely to appeal to the MAGA base don’t solve problems. Endless cable news culture wars don’t solve problems. Scorched earth negative attacks on anyone who disagrees with you do not solve problems. This is all that David Gregory has to offer.

We need adults in the room who can sit down with Republicans and Democrats alike, who will take time to meet with constituents and listen to their concerns, and who won’t first ask “is this something that would make Donald Trump happy?” before making important decisions that affect us all.
