Hi John - it's official!
Kamala Harris has chosen Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to be her Vice Presidential nominee. I’m thrilled about it. Here’s why:
Tim has flown under the national radar, but I’ve been a fan of his for a while now. His background and approach to governing make total sense to me.
Tim is a veteran, a former schoolteacher, and a high school football coach. He’s also a dad. As Governor of Minnesota, he led exactly as you’d expect based on his bio - with integrity and centered around the needs of actual people. He bolstered schools (including free school lunches), passed paid family leave, and protected abortion rights.
He’s gotten it done not by hogging the national media spotlight but instead by being his authentic self (I highly recommend his videos with his daughter Hope).
I really appreciate his approach to public service. It’s why I got into this work too.
Ultimately, my job this cycle isn’t to prognosticate though. My job is to make sure we win this toss-up seat. I’m running in the most vulnerable Democratic seat in California and we have to win to take back the Speaker’s gavel.
So if you’re as excited about the top of the ticket as I am right now, I’m hoping you will please send in a critical donation today to help us keep up the momentum and win our competitive down-ballot race too.
