In just a moment I am going to ask you to make a donation to VoteVets now that my friend and VoteVets member Tim Walz has been tapped as Kamala Harris’ running mate. Please, let me explain why VoteVets — and your support — was critical to Tim’s career and will play an important role in the election this November.

Back in 2006, Tim Walz was a teacher, he was a Veteran and he was running for Congress in a red district that no one thought he had a shot at winning. But VoteVets took notice and they ran $115,000 in advertisements to help defeat Tim’s opponent. Tim won that race, he’s kept on winning and VoteVets has had his back ever since.

It’s the same story with me. Since my first campaign, VoteVets is one of the organizations that I have always been able to count on. It’s the same story with thousands of candidates from around the country. VoteVets gets leaders with competence, capability and a proven record of service and dedication to this country elected. VoteVets members serve the public at every level — from school boards and local offices and, now, all the way up to the Democratic candidate for Vice President of the United States.
