I am thrilled that Kamala Harris has chosen my friend and former colleague in the U.S. House of Representatives, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, for her VP!
Walz is the working-class champion that American families deserve as our next Vice President. In Minnesota, he raised the minimum wage, provided free school lunches to children so that no child goes hungry, and enshrined paid sick leave into state law, so that Americans could take care of themselves and their families without fear of losing their jobs.
Tim Walz supports reproductive rights and has implemented strong LGBTQ protections, continuing a longstanding tradition of defending civil liberties for all.
He is a teacher, coach, veteran, and all-around nice guy, and as our next Vice President, I trust him to put hard working Americans first and foremost, building our economy from the ground up, and protecting the rights of all Americans. Now let’s get to work and send Harris and Walz to the White House!
