Friends -
In this unprecedented moment of crisis, there are so many people across this country wondering how they are going to get by.
How will I afford health care if I get sick, or a loved one gets sick, due to the coronavirus? How will I put food on the table and pay my bills without any income? When will this crisis end, and how will I know when it is safe to return to regular daily life?
That is the struggle that so many across the country, and the world, are facing right now.
We are all feeling the impacts of this pandemic, and it is more important than ever that we work together and move forward together.
That is why we would like to hear from you today — to understand your experience and how the coronavirus is impacting your life.
We are not just facing a health crisis. We are also facing a complete economic meltdown as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, and both of these crises have further exposed the irrationality and cruelty of the current systems in our society.
As tens of millions of Americans are losing their jobs and incomes as a result of the pandemic, many of them are also losing their health insurance. That is what happens when health care is seen as an employee benefit, not a guaranteed right.
And for the millions of people across the country who live paycheck to paycheck, staying home is not an option. In order to feed your family and pay rent, you have to go to work. For the working class, that means leaving your home and doing jobs that often require interacting with other people, some of whom are spreading the virus.
In every state across this country, there is a different level of crisis. And every occupation has a different level of concern. But we are all experiencing the effects of this global pandemic, and it is important to remember that we are in this together.
It is difficult to write proper legislation to help address this crisis if there is not an understanding of the kinds of pain and problems that people all across this country are facing. That is why it is important to Bernie to receive your input.
By taking our survey, you will help us get a better understanding of what is going on in our country and how we can best go forward together.
Thank you for adding your response today. If we work together — if we do not turn to fear and panic — and go forward as one people, we will get through this.
In solidarity,
Team Bernie
