Hi John,
Yesterday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo issued an executive order requiring election officials to send absentee ballot applications to all voters amid the coronavirus pandemic:
This has completely upended all of our plans. Now, we need to pivot our outreach strategy to account for this new executive order — and we need your help to make that pivot. Can you chip in $5 to our campaign so we can update our voter outreach strategy? We need to raise $25,000 before the end of the month to make this happen.

It's important to note that absentee ballots won't automatically get sent to New Yorkers. Voters will still have to fill out an application to get their actual ballot.
Once they receive that application, they will have to send it in, wait for approval, get an absentee ballot in the mail, and then cast their vote over mail...which will need to be postmarked by the day before Election Day.
While this order will keep New Yorkers safe, there's no denying that it adds another layer of confusion for voters. We're committed to helping NY-16 voters understand this order, but this wasn't something we anticipated.
We don't expect that this will be the last curveball before Election Day — and we need to be ready to rise to the occasion as fast (and best) as we can.
Can you please chip in whatever you can afford — $5, $15, $25 — to our campaign? Every contribution will help us reach the $25,000 we need to get the word out about this new order, and to weather any future storms.
