For the last five months, we’ve collaborated with our Indigenous partners and allies of the environmental justice movement to call out Citibank for its financing of climate destruction. Since June, The Summer of Heat campaign has been calling out Citibank in public protests throughout the country, leading to hundreds of arrests.
In April, Indigenous leaders traveled all the way from the Peruvian Amazon to meet with Citi’s leadership in the U.S. to demand that it stop financing Petroperú, but the bank is still funding the company’s destructive activities. That’s why we’re calling on the large companies that have co-branded credit cards to drop dirty Citi and find a better partner.
It’s time for us to hit Citi where it hurts: Their brand reputation and their ability to do business with other major companies. If we demand that these companies pressure Citi about its fossil fuel financing, we can really make a difference.
Send a message to executives at Costco, LL Bean, Macy’s, Home Depot, Best Buy, Sears, and AT&T today. Help demand an end to Citi’s destructive practices financing climate change through Amazon destruction!
