<[link removed]>Friend,

If there is one campaign promise that Joe Biden kept, it was his promise to major donors that “Nothing will fundamentally change.”

Now it’s evident that Kamala Harris is carrying that promise forward into her campaign.

This morning Harris named Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate. He was immediately embraced as a progressive champion by AOC and the mark of a return to “normalcy” from Joe Manchin.

There’s much we can say about Tim Walz’s supposedly progressive record, and we will. But the endorsement of his selection by Joe Manchin is the most telling of all.

Let’s talk about what “normalcy” means for Democrats.

It means making symbolic, low-risk gestures towards indigenous sovereignty like giving public park land back to Minnesota’s First Americans while greenlighting Enron’s pipeline through tribal lands and destroying critical water systems in the Mississippi River’s headwaters.

It means expressing public support for the right to protest while calling the National Guard on your own citizens protesting the violent police murder of George Floyd.

It means giving lip service to the ceasefire movement while catering to the Zionist lobby and giving speeches at AIPAC.

Without question, our opponent could have chosen a WORSE running mate. The pressure of the anti-genocide movement and the fierce, unrelenting advocacy to end this genocide and free Palestine was enough to keep the most ardent Zionist off the Democratic ticket.

But with an ongoing genocide waged with American dollars and American bombs; as the Middle East hovers on the brink of WW-III; with an accelerating climate emergency; and with an economy on the verge of a freefall that will once again crush working families – a straight-down-the-middle moderate Democrat like Tim Walz does not meet the moment.

It simply upholds the Democrats’ most ironclad promise: Nothing will fundamentally change.

It remains true that there is ONLY ONE anti-genocide, pro-peace, pro-worker, climate action campaign with a pathway to the White House this November – ours. We need your financial support to deliver our mandate at the ballot box. <[link removed]>

<[link removed]>DONATE NOW <[link removed]>The choice of a running mate is a profoundly important decision for a presidential campaign. You need someone who will be an effective and collaborative partner, with whom you share strong ideological bonds but who brings another perspective and different lived experiences to the job.

Our campaign is about addressing the urgent demands of the day while also building a sustainable society and livable future where everyone can thrive.

Our vice president cannot be someone content to maintain the status quo, as Walz will surely do for Harris. They must be someone who shares our fearless vision for the future within our reach.

We found the right one, and we can’t wait for you to meet them this Thursday. Click here for details and to register for our announcement rally! <[link removed]>

It’s true. As long as we continue electing Democrats, nothing will fundamentally change.

I’m asking you to invest in the radical transformation that this moment demands. Will you join us? <[link removed]>

In solidarity and gratitude,

Jill
