Donald Trump just told Americans we may be able to protect ourselves from COVID-19 by ingesting disinfectants like Lysol and bleach. What?!

We know we don’t have to tell you his remarks were outright dangerous and lacked any medical merit.

But more than that: We’re deeply concerned about what could happen if Trump goes through with firing Dr. Anthony Fauci after all.

If Trump fires Dr. Fauci, outrageous, harmful suggestions like ingesting bleach are the kind of medical advice the federal government would give the American people.

That should shake every one of us to our very core.
