This is an exciting day to be a Midwesterner! In case you haven't seen the news, Vice President Kamala Harris just announced that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz will be her running mate!
Last year, during the Iowa State Fair, my daughters and I helped welcome Governor Walz to the fairgrounds in East Des Moines. This year, with the State Fair ready to start later this week, I’m excited to see he will now become the Democratic nominee for Vice President of the United States.
During his tenure, Governor Walz has prioritized funding public education, health care, and been a strong advocate for collective bargaining. Vice President Walz will do the same.
These are the same priorities I am running to protect in the Iowa Senate.
