Suzie turned 30 this year, and you're all invited to her birthday bash on Sunday, August 11!
Nobody likes a rainy day for their birthday, so with a washout forecasted for Saturday, we've moved our Bear Birthday Bash to this Sunday, August 11. Gates will be open from 9:30am to 4:30pm as usual, and visitors can stay at the park until 6:00pm. Lots of exciting ways to celebrate Suzie and Maine's black bears are scheduled throughout the day from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
Come watch the birthday bear open her presents and celebrate with lots of extra enrichment! You'll also get to meet Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife's black bear biologist and learn all about black bear research and management in Maine, and attend a keeper talk about black bear adaptations and how the bears are cared for at the Park. Don't forget to enter the raffle, pick out some Suzie swag and leave her a special birthday message!

Talented Talons

Join us for a day of learning about Maine's birds of prey also known as raptors. We will have a special Wildlife Keeper talk over at the raptor enclosures to learn about the amazing adaptations of raptors and how they care for them at the Park. Then join the MDIFW Raptor Biologist to learn more about raptors of Maine and how they are managed.
