No child should ever go hungry.
It’s not a controversial take, John. We all envision a future where kids grow up healthy, happy and ready to reach their full potential.
While politicians debate the best way to fight food insecurity, most Americans are on the same page.
This summer, SCAN surveyed voters nationwide – and found common ground among people from all sorts of backgrounds. Here’s what we found:
*
90%
of
swing
voters
say
food
prices
are
a
big
problem
right
now.
*
85%
agree
that
the
Supplemental
Nutrition
Assistance
Program
(SNAP)
is
critical
for
food-insecure
families.
*
79%
want
to
increase
SNAP
benefits
to
keep
up
with
inflation
and
help
parents
pay
for
groceries.
There you have it, John: According to our poll, a majority of voters believe in strengthening SNAP. Now, it’s time for Congress to act. [[link removed]]
SNAP is a lifeline for 41.2 million people nationwide, including nearly 15 million children!
Yet the average recipient receives just $6.20 in benefits per day.
Could YOU afford three nutritious meals on that budget? I know it wouldn’t be nearly enough to feed my family – especially my growing son.
Hunger is spiking, and kids need support to survive it. Please, urge Congress to protect and improve SNAP. [[link removed]]
Thanks for being a voice for kids,
