The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the Maine Child Welfare Action Network (MCWAN) invite you to participate in a brief _anonymous_ survey about mandated reporting as part of our work to keep children safe by keeping families strong.

DHHS and MCWAN developed and released the Child Safety and Family Well-Being Plan [ [link removed] ] in May 2023, which provides a framework to guide this collective effort, including evaluating mandated reporting and community support for families in Maine. As you may be aware, Maine law requires that certain professionals who suspect child abuse and neglect report to DHHS. ?It also indicates any person may make a report if that person knows or has reasonable cause to suspect that a child has been or is likely to be abused or neglected or that there has been a suspicious child death.

We are interested in gathering information on experiences with mandated reporting practice, training, and policy, to inform opportunities to ensure mandated reporters and the public understand and can help families receive the most appropriate support. Your experiences and opinions are important to us and we invite you to participate in this brief _anonymous_ survey found here [ [link removed] ] to share your thoughts and input. ?The survey will be open on August 6 and close on August 12.? ?

We hope you will join us in this important work to support child safety and family well-being in Maine. Please don?t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Thank you.
