Earlier today, we learned that Kamala Harris's pick for VP is our friend, Tim Walz of Minnesota. Marcy has been pushing hard for a Midwest VP pick. For far too long the Midwest, our Great Lakes, and rural communities have been overlooked, but today's decision shows continued commitment to our communities. 

Tim's story is one of service. He served our country in the Army National Guard, and as a high school teacher and football coach. Then in 2006, he flipped a GOP seat and served as a ranking Democrat on the House Veterans Affairs Committee and on House Agriculture. From there he went on to serve as Minnesota's 41st Governor — putting families and workers at the center of everything he does. 

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind, but nobody can dismiss the energy and enthusiasm we're seeing. Now, we have to keep that momentum up until November. Not just at the top of the ticket but in tough races across the country.
