Dear Friend,
Every seven seconds, a woman or infant dies during pregnancy, childbirth, or the first weeks after birth. At Project
HOPE, we know this is the humanitarian crisis that doesn’t make the news — even though it takes as many
lives and causes as much devastation as any war, conflict, or natural disaster. We are hoping that you, a
compassionate supporter of global health, will help
reverse this grim statistic right now, when your generosity is 2X more powerful.
Our special Matching Gift Challenge will turn every $1 you donate into $2, up to a total of $20,000, until
August 27. Please
make a gift today to help mothers, newborns, and communities in crisis get the health care they need.
Your 2X-matched gift can help health care workers and humanitarians like these as they save the lives of women and
newborns across the world:

Diana — Caring for Pregnant Venezuelans
|
Many pregnant women and girls fleeing gang violence and economic turmoil in Venezuela have no access to prenatal care. But when they reach our Project HOPE-supported hospital in Colombia, doctors and nurses like Diana help them get the care they need like treatment for life-threatening preeclampsia or gestational diabetes.

Hindatu — Training Midwives in Nigeria
|
In Nigeria, Hindatu helps build the skills of traditional birth attendants, so they can provide the best care to women and newborns. She also makes sure pregnant women are tested for HIV, so they can start treatment and get the community support they need. With your help, we can ensure that people like Hindatu and health workers in rural regions can continue their lifesaving work.

Adama — Delivering Babies in Sierra Leone
|
At a small hospital in Sierra Leone, midwives like Adama deliver around 200 babies a month — many high-risk pregnancies referred from rural communities. Your 2X-matched gift can help health workers like her get more training on how to clear newborns’ airways and resuscitate babies who are not breathing.

|
Since 1985, Project HOPE and our local partners have saved moms and protected babies by improving maternal, neonatal, and child health care. I’m so proud of our community’s work, and we will remain dedicated to ending this crisis of care across the world.
Please play a mission-critical role with your gift today. Your doubled support can make a lifesaving difference to moms, families, and communities.
