Message from Rep. Tracey Mann. Having Trouble Viewing? Click Here. Fellow Kansan, Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter! I am spending time in Kansas this week and look forward to hearing how I can better serve you in Congress. Follow me on social media to see more of my work across the Big First this week. I do not serve in Congress to be a caretaker in the slow demise of America – I serve to fight and work to make it stronger. That's what I am doing while believing our brightest days are yet to come. Yours in service, Click below to follow me on social media. Mann.House.Gov In the Office Demanding Answers for Haskell Indian Nations University The Biden-Harris Administration has failed the students of Haskell Indian Nations University for far too long. I joined members of the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Committee on Education to demand that the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and Bureau of Indian Education support Haskell Indian Nations University. I also asked Assistant Secretary of Indian Affairs Bryan Newland why no one from the Department responded to a letter I sent in June bringing Haskell’s needs to the Administration’s attention. Despite cries for help, the Biden-Harris Administration has ignored the students of Haskell. Haskell is a one-of-a kind, historic, and invaluable institution that deserves better. I urge the Bureau of Indian Education, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and Department of the Interior to address the concerns of my letter and support Haskell. Click here to view the full text of the letter Investigating the Assassination Attempt of Donald Trump We must make sure the massive security failures that took place during the attempted assassination of President Trump never happen again. I voted to establish a task force that will get the facts and deliver real answers to the American people on where Secret Service failed. This is the first step in holding our government accountable and keeping all Americans safe. I look forward to hearing the findings of the task force and will continue to hold our government accountable. Supporting Kansas Manufacturing Communities Last week, I attended the Associated Equipment Manufacturers’ Manufacturing Express Event. AEM is hosting a series of events at manufacturing businesses like Great Plains Manufacturing in Salina. At the event, I spoke about the important role that manufacturing plays in Saline County, our region, and the country, and I provided an update on passing a fiscally conservative Farm Bill that puts America's tax dollars in places where we can see a return on those dollars. American manufacturers keep America running and ensure that infrastructure projects are completed smoothly, while supporting our agricultural community. I appreciated speaking with Great Plains Manufacturing staff and touring their facility. Thank you for the important role you play in supporting Salina, Kansas, and the world. Fighting to End the Fentanyl Crisis The Biden-Harris border crisis continues to endanger millions of Americans by allowing dangerous substances like fentanyl to flood into our country. Under the Administration’s policies, cartels have been the winners and innocent children have been the losers. While House Republicans have been fighting to protect Americans from the dangers of fentanyl, the White House continues to sit idly by. The fentanyl crisis is a national security issue and must be immediately resolved. House Republicans have answered the call by passing H.R. 2, the strongest border security bill passed this Congress. I urge Senate Democrats to protect innocent Americans and pass this critical legislation.   Military Academy Nominations As a Member of Congress, I am honored to nominate students from the Big First District to attend our country’s military service academies. The decision to apply to a service academy is a personal and courageous one, and I am humbled to be a part of the process.
