To further underscore why this is such a huge deal for our movement, here are just a few of Governor Walz's climate accomplishments:

He signed a bill to hit 100 percent clean energy by 2040 in Minnesota—one of the most ambitious clean energy standards in the country—and he got it done with a single-vote majority in the state Senate.

He built the Minnesota State Competitiveness Fund, which has helped the state secure hundreds of millions of dollars in federal investments to support community-driven climate solutions.

Understanding the barriers standing in the way of clean energy deployment, he signed a bill that will help the state deploy clean energy faster.

He consistently secured funding for mass transit while in office, and his administration is now implementing a nation-leading law that incorporates climate into transportation investments.

This is what a climate champion looks like. 💪
