Project description: The Roger Dabelstein mine plan consists of industrial silica sand excavation on a 50-acre grassland/agricultural site in Pilot Mound Township, Fillmore County (Figure 1). The project will excavate sandstone in five 10-acre phases and haul it via State Highway 30 to various destinations for processing and distribution. Reclamation will result in 22 additional cropland acres and 10 acres of dry prairie, oak openings, and cliff plantings.

23-410 Notice of Public Hearings and Availability of Environmental Assessment

Notice description: PUC Docket Number: ET-2/TL-23-410 OAH Docket Number: 5-2500-39898 PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (Commission) will hold public hearings on the route permit application of Great River Energy (GRE) to rebuild and upgrade an existing 69 kilovolt (kV) transmission line with a new 8.75-mile-long 115 kV HVTL (High Voltage Transmission Line) between the Pilot Knob Substation in Eagan and the Burnsville Substation in Burnsville. The proposed Project will also include upgrades and modifications to the Burnsville substation.

First public meeting additional details: There will be an open-house from 5:30PM - 6PM. During the open-house, attendees will have an opportunity to review maps and materials for the project and ask questions of the applicants and state staff. During this time, comments made by attendees will become a part of the record for consideration only if the attendee submits the comment in writing. Forms will be available for this purpose. Minnesota Duty Officer reports pertaining to fish kills are summarized in the following table, in accordance with 103G.216, REPORTING FISH KILLS IN PUBLIC WATERS, Subd. 2 Reporting Requirement. These reports were received via the Minnesota Duty Officer prior to the submission deadline for this edition of the EQB Monitor.
