I couldn't be more thrilled about the monumental announcement made by Vice President Kamala Harris today. By selecting Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate, she has assembled a powerhouse team that will lead our nation forward with unwavering dedication to Democratic values.

Governor Walz is a true champion for America's working families:

• As governor, he signed the largest tax cut in state history, lowered the cost of insulin to $35 per month, eliminated junk fees, and signed paid leave into law so that parents can take care of sick family members without losing their job.
• For six terms, he represented a conservative-leaning congressional district, passing legislation to help stem veterans' suicides as ranking member on the House Veterans Affairs Committee.
• He made Minnesota the first state to pass a law codifying abortion rights after the Supreme Court overturned Roe, standing up for our fundamental freedoms.
• As a gun owner and avid pheasant hunter, he supports the Second Amendment while also believing that Congress must do more to tackle gun violence. He established universal background checks for gun purchases in Minnesota.
• He funded Minnesota police departments, helping hire more officers and invest in body cameras, while also banning chokeholds to build trust between officers and communities.

Together, Vice President Harris and Governor Walz represent the unity, resilience, and visionary leadership that America needs now more than ever. Their combined strengths promise to uplift all Americans and steer our country towards a brighter, more inclusive future.
