We have appointed a new Director

Dear supporter,

Since its inception in 1991, The Christian Institute has sought to promote a biblical understanding of key moral issues facing society.

When its founder and Director Colin Hart died suddenly in March it came as a shock to us all, but the staff and Trustees’ commitment to upholding this vision has not wavered.

The Trustees and I were aware that this was a crucial moment in the history of the Institute. We were determined to pray for the appointment of the right person under God to be the next Director and consulted both internally and externally as part of a rigorous search process.

So I am delighted to announce that the Trustees have unanimously agreed, after interview, to appoint Ciarán Kelly as the new Director of The Christian Institute. Ciarán joined the Institute some 10 years ago, first as Head of Communications and then as a Deputy Director. He has earned the full confidence of the staff and trustees – there is no one more suited to lead the Institute for the challenges that lie ahead.

Watch now

Please pray that the Lord would uphold him in this new role, and that He would grant both of us wisdom and insight as we seek to faithfully guide the work of the Institute through the challenges that lie ahead.

Yours in Christ,
Richard Turnbull
